01 Overview

BabyNest ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal baby tracking application developed to help parents and caregivers log daily activities including feeding, sleep, diaper changes, and symptoms. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your family's data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information BabyNest collects, how it is used, stored, and shared — and the choices you have regarding your data.

02 Data We Collect

BabyNest collects only the information you actively provide to use the app's features. We do not collect data silently or without your knowledge.

💜 We do not collect precise location data, camera or microphone access, advertising identifiers, or health data through Apple HealthKit unless explicitly stated in a future update with your consent.

03 How We Use Your Data

We use the data you provide exclusively to deliver and improve the BabyNest experience:

Display your baby's daily timeline, overview stats, and tracking history
Calculate feeding alerts (e.g., notify you after 3+ hours since last feed)
Generate personalized reflux focus areas based on your logged symptoms
Enable real-time synchronization between linked caregivers
Persist your data securely across app sessions and devices
Improve app stability and user experience through anonymized crash reports

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.

04 Data Storage

BabyNest stores your data in two locations depending on how you use the app:

Local Storage (Guest Mode): If you use BabyNest as a guest without creating an account, all data is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. No data leaves your device in this mode.
Cloud Storage (Signed-In Mode): If you create an account or enable caregiver sharing, your data is securely synchronized to Supabase — a SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS. Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).

Your data is stored in servers located in the European Union (EU) or United States, depending on your selected Supabase region. Data transfers comply with applicable laws including GDPR where applicable.

05 Sharing Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

With caregivers you explicitly invite: If you invite a partner or family member, they will be able to view or edit tracking data according to the permission level you set (Viewer or Editor).
With Supabase (infrastructure provider): Your data is stored on Supabase servers solely for the purpose of delivering the app's functionality. Supabase does not use your data for its own purposes.
With RevenueCat (subscription management): If you subscribe to BabyNest Premium, subscription status is managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive your Apple App Store receipt and subscription state. No baby tracking data is shared with RevenueCat.
If required by law: We may disclose data if required by a valid legal process, court order, or government authority.

06 Caregiver Sharing

BabyNest allows you to invite other caregivers (partners, grandparents, nannies) to view or contribute to your baby's tracking data.

You control who is invited and can revoke access at any time from the app's sharing settings
Invited caregivers are assigned either Viewer (read-only) or Editor (can log entries) permission
Caregiver invitations are sent by email and require acceptance before access is granted
If you delete your account, all associated caregiver access is also revoked

07 Children's Privacy

BabyNest is designed for use by parents and adult caregivers. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13.

While the app tracks data about infants (e.g., a baby's feeding and sleep patterns), this data is entered and controlled exclusively by adult users — never collected directly from a child.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 as a user of the app. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at the address below.

08 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: You can view all your logged data directly within the app at any time
Correction: You can edit or delete any logged entry within the app
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the app's profile settings. Upon account deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days
Portability: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below
Opt-out of cloud sync: You may use BabyNest in guest mode to keep all data local to your device

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

09 Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's services.

If you delete the app without deleting your account, your data remains on our servers and will be accessible if you reinstall
If you delete your account via the app, all associated data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days
Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (not linked to your identity) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes

10 Security

We take the security of your family's data seriously and implement industry-standard measures:

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2+
Data stored on Supabase is encrypted at rest using AES-256
Authentication is handled using secure, token-based sessions
We do not store passwords in plain text

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

BabyNest uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

12 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.

Your continued use of BabyNest after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the app and delete your account.
